昨日2月8日（木）に山口学園全体で行われるスピーチ大会、第6回GEA（Global Education Awards）が開催され、グローバルビジネスコース、グローバルホテルコースに在籍する留学生も出場しました

１年生は、香港出身の男子学生で、オープンキャンパスの運営スタッフのお仕事を通じて成長したことを力いっぱいスピーチしてくれました。

２年生は、ベトナム出身の仲良しコンビで、研修でお世話になった福島県の方々への感謝と、カフェ・ラポールで福島県の特産品を販売したことを通じて成長したことを、心を込めて、精一杯スピーチしてくれました。

結果、１年生の男子学生が見事、留学生による日本語スピーチ部門で優秀賞を勝ち取りました✨
２年生の２人は惜しくも受賞は逃したものの、感動的なスピーチで、私はスピーチ終了後もしばらく涙が止まりませんでした。

スピーチの練習が授業の課題発表や期末試験の時期と重なり、とても大変だったと思いますが、３名とも、本当によく頑張ってくれました

 

GEA, Well Done!!

Yesterday, on February 8th (Thursday), the entire Yamaguchi Gakuen held its speech contest, the 6th edition of GEA (Global Education Awards), in which international students enrolled in the Global Business and Global Hotel courses also participated.

Among the freshmen, there was a male student from Hong Kong who delivered a heartfelt speech about his growth through his work as a staff member during the open campus events.

The sophomores, a duo from Vietnam, expressed their gratitude to the people of Fukushima Prefecture, who had taken care of them during their training, and shared how they had grown through selling Fukushima's local products at Café Rapport.

As a result, the freshman male student splendidly won an Excellent Award in the Japanese Speech Division for international students. Although the two sophomores narrowly missed winning awards, their speeches were so moving that even after the speeches ended, I couldn't stop my tears for a while.

I understand that practicing speeches overlapped with class presentations and end-of-term exams, making it very challenging, but all three of them really persevered and did exceptionally well.
